Balneário Camboriú: beaches, tours, hotels, restaurants
Balneário Camboriú is definitely not the same anymore. The city has undergone pharaonic transformations in recent years, such as the widening of the beach, which went from 25 meters to 70 meters in 2021, the construction of immense skyscrapers – which earned the destination the nickname “Brazilian Dubai” – and a population growth of 28.74% in twelve years, according to the 2022 Census. The municipality currently has around 140 thousand inhabitants, but receives up to one million visitors, a mark reached on New Year's Eve 2024 and which has already entered the history of city: New Year's Eve was welcomed with a show of a thousand drones.
Avenida Atlântica , the seaside road and the city's main artery, stretches for 5.8 kilometers. The northern part is called Barra Norte, the southern part is called Barra Sul and, halfway there, is what is called Praia Central. The motto along the entire coastline is to see and be seen and big cars parade around. It is also where there is a mix of bars, nightclubs, traditional and modern restaurants that share space with residential buildings, hotels and tourist attractions.
The most privileged views are at both ends of Praia Central: at Barra Sul, from the Parque Unipraias viewpoint, and at Barra Norte, from the top of the FG Big Wheel.

Praias
A paisagem mais conhecida de Balneário Camboriú como é chamada pelos mais (ou menos) íntimos é a da Praia Central, com a orla emoldurada pelos prédios gigantescos. Mas não é só da Praia Central que vive Balneário: há outras cinco praias no município, cujo acesso é feito pela Rodovia Inter praias. A mais famosa delas é a selvagem Praia do Pinho, considerada a primeira praia destinada ao naturismo do Brasil. Sem contar outras areias que ficam bastante próximas e que costumam fazer parte do roteiro de quem visita a cidade, como é o caso da Praia Brava, em Itajaí, e a praia de Itapema.
